John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site

In eastern Massachusetts, in Brookline

The site preserves the house where the 35th president of the United States was born in 1917. This was the first home shared by the presidents father and mother, Joseph P. and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, and represents the social and political beginnings of one of the world's most prominent political families. The nine-room house was restored in the 1960s, under the direction of Rose Kennedy as a memorial to her son. Included are household furnishings, photographs, and significant family mementos representing the Kennedy family lifestyle. The site was established in 1969.
